BY DENNIS NEWLYN
There is no easier way of picking up $2000 for thirty minutes work!
The only job requirement is a skill for demolition, destruction, crashing and smashing.
Previous experience and ability in dealing with a precision for collision is a distinct advantage.
These are the work mandates for applicants eligible to fill a position in the field for what will be the richest winner-take-all demolition derby ever held at Hessions Auto Parts Grafton Speedway on Saturday, October 28 – ever held in Australian speedway for that matter!!
Time is running out to file a nomination form to prepare a car for the show of shows in the ultimate mechanical bull fight to the finish.
There is even a $500 prize just for being judged the most spectacular driver in the derby.
To nominate, it is as easy as a phone call 6621-2733 (Monday to Friday office hours) or 0408222908 to secure a set of safety regulations required for entry into the demolition derby.
Nomination forms ARE now on the Grafton Speedway website (www.graftonspeedway.com.au).
This event has certainly caught the attention of the local speedway community and it promises to be an exciting, spectacular contest.
There is also bragging rights to be the best demolition derby driver in New South Wales as the winner will walk away with a magnificent trophy befitting the status of state champion.
Promoter David Lander has gone to great lengths to ensure this particular demolition derby will attract a top field of crash merchants.
The countdown is well and truly on for the NSW Demolition Derby Championship at Hessions Auto Parts Grafton Speedway and Lander is hoping a good field will be on hand to go at it for thirty minutes of mayhem.
“I cannot recall a demolition derby in speedway here paying two thousand dollars to the winner. I want to make this a night that will be enjoyable for the whole family as everyone likes a demolition derby,” Lander said.
For the strictly rev heads who want to get their regular speedway racing fix, there will also be a full programme with a variety of car divisions in action.
