DAYLIGHT FIXTURE CONFIRMED FOR JUNE 4
BY DENNIS NEWLYN
SATURDAY night’s (May 13) washed out meeting at Castrol Edge Lismore Speedway will now be held as a daylight fixture on Sunday, June 4.
Heavy rain in the previous 12 hours left the ground saturated and promoter David Lander was left with no alternative but to postpone the meeting.
“The ground, the pit and spectator areas as well as the track were badly affected by the rain and there was no chance of getting a meeting run,” Lander said.
“The whole meeting, with all the racing categories originally listed for an appearance on Saturday night, May 13, will now be transferred to June 4 with a 1:00 PM start.”
The June 4 show represents the first of two consecutive weekends of daylight racing at the Lismore Showground venue with another meeting set for the Queen’s Birthday long weekend, Sunday June 11.
The V8 Dirt Modifieds and Wingless Sprintcars will headline the June 4 show. That particular meeting will be the season finale for the V8 Dirt Modifieds.
The support categories will be Junior Sedans, Production Sedans, Street Stocks, National Four Cylinder Sedans and AMCA Nationals.
